SUBMITTING PROPOSALS

Proposals must be submitted electronically. By clicking on the ‘Submit’ buttons below, you will be automatically directed to the GÉANT Indico platform. Access to the electronic submission system is available by using federated login.

(Digital) Poster proposals

Deadline: Monday, May 17

All selected posters will be displayed in a dedicated area on the TNC21 online event platform and TNC21 website, with a description, names of the authors and contact details (email address).

The poster should summarise your work with graphs and images and tell a story, text should be used sparingly. Featuring a poster at TNC will be an excellent advertisement for your work and can act as a great conversation starter with TNC participants.

Poster proposals may include future work that is expected to produce results in the first half of 2021. Abstracts should clearly indicate what work has already been done and what still has to take place.

Applications should provide the following information:

  • Title of the poster
  • Name, affiliation, and contact information of the submitting author
  • Names, affiliations, and contact information of any additional authors
  • An abstract (max. 1 pages of A4) describing the content of the poster
  • A draft poster may also be submitted to support the abstract, but is not mandatory

Format

Please note that if you cannot meet the following requirements, we will not be able to accept your poster.

  • PDF, Power Point Presentation or PNG
  • The poster will be presented in a landscape/horizontal layout format

Accepted posters must be submitted in the correct digital format on Monday 7 June. The organisers will make sure the poster is displayed and linked correctly, on the TNC21 online event platform and TNC21 website.

The following information will need to appear next to the poster on the TNC21 website:

  • Name, affiliation, and contact information of the submitting author
  • Names, affiliations, and contact information of any additional authors
  • Email addresses

Lightning Talk proposals

Duration: 5 minutes | Deadline: Thursday, March 11

(submission closed)

Lightning Talks focus on one key point. This can be an idea, a successful project, a cautionary story, a collaboration invitation, a quick tip or demonstration. It is an opportunity for ideas to get the attention they deserve, within a maximum of 5 minutes. The clock will be ticking, so get prepared!

All Lightning Talk submissions will be reviewed by the TNC21 Programme Committee and all submitters will be notified in April 2021.

Proposal abstracts should include:

  • Presentation title
  • Presentation description
  • Presenter’s name and affiliation
  • Authors names and affiliations (if different from the presenter)

Demonstration proposals

Duration: 30 minutes | Deadline: Tuesday, February 23

(submission closed)

The Demonstrations track is an opportunity for researchers, developers and partners to present their services, innovative prototypes, practical developments, on-going projects, lessons learned and recent results  that are relevant to the conference’s topics of interest. All submitters will be notified in April 2021.

BoF (Bird of a Feather) proposals

Duration: 90 minutes | Deadline: Tuesday, February 23

(submission closed)

For TNC21 we will host a limited number of online slots for 90-min meetings (BoFs). The bigger side meetings that usually take place during TNC will be selected beforehand and the organisers of these meetings will be notified by us.

Good to know:

  • We are yet to define the dates and times of the BoFs, due to the fact we will decide on the final format of TNC21 in February.
  • All requests for a BoF will be handled as a 90-minute meeting.
  • The accepted BoFs will be published on the TNC21 website and programme.

The following criteria for evaluation will also be applied:

  • Submission for an interactive meeting and not a presentation for the main programme.
  • Submission with a clearly identified audience that will be attending TNC21.
  • Submission complete and including all the requested information.

Meeting proposals should include:

  • Title
  • Submitter’s name and affiliation
  • Meeting description
  • Intended audience
  • Estimated number of attendees
  • Technical requirements
  • Meeting format

Single presentation proposals

Duration: 20 minutes | Deadline: Monday, November 30

(submission closed)

During the submission process, submitters will need to answer a set of questions and attach a pdf of the full proposal. Abstracts (the attachment) should be about 600 words (one A4 page) and may include work from the second half of 2020 and future work that is expected to produce results in the first half of 2021. These should clearly indicate what work has already been done and what still has to take place.

Note 1: All speakers must be mentioned by name and organisation when submitting the proposal. For a single presentation, a maximum of 2 speakers are allowed for this slot.

Note 2: It is no longer possible to submit full session proposals.

Every presentation submission will be reviewed by the TNC21 Programme Committee. All submitters will be notified about the outcome in February 2021.

Proposals must include:

  • Presentation title
  • Presenter’s name and affiliation
  • Authors names and affiliations (if different from the presenter)
  • Presentation description
  • Full proposal (attachment – see above)
